NEW YORK, NY
The first Hempstead Town Hall was purchased in 1874 from the Ladies Washington Society for $1,800. Before that, Hempstead lacked an official headquarters for 90 years. In 1929 and after World War II, extensions were added to the building, bringing it closer to the structure residents see today.
